Thankfully in this complicated media world, there is a
unifying factor. ‘Today, everything has condensed down
into one, single channel,’ says YouTube spokesperson
Chris Dale. ‘And that’s the channel of you.’ And the key
to unlocking access to ‘you’ is the new king: context. -
Sometimes you just have to believe what others say about you.
-
Give designers a bit more of who you are and bit less about the finished piece.
-
Is there a place for snobbery in design? Because I think I’m one. I can’t give someone a design that I think looks shit even if thats what they’ve asked for… I just can’t do it… I know they might love it but… I’ll have to see it and know I created that. Other people will know I’ve created that. What is she talking about I hear you say?
Well I’ve been designing a logo for my dad’s football team in Gambia and it has been one of the hardest logos I’ve ever had to design. Why? 1. He didn’t know what he wanted to communicate, there was too much but we needed to keep it simple. 2. I couldn’t latch on to any of the ideas 3. He just wanted an easy logo.
But I am past creating logos that are just a logo for the sake of logo. No matter what it looks like it will say something about you so I believe you should take control of what that says and communicate a message that is relevant and has meaning.
Oh I was born to be defiant.
-
I was born with power
And so was you
I am someone
And so are you
I am me
And you are you
-
I think too much!
How many times do you start change to write a post, tweet and chan… before you actually hit that send button? How do you get over the freeze factor and just press send?
